I am stealing this picture from Jim C's rebuild thread as it shows the bulkhead without the fenders installed. Is the hole in the pictures the proper hole to route the speakers wires through?

If so does anyone have a picture of where the speaker wire comes out on the other side?

 

That's were Josh got a bit fast and loose drilling out the galv from the vents ... ;-)

 

Dave, yes, that's where you run the speaker wires for the fron doors. Incidentally, that's the same wire run the dome light triggers use.

FWIW my 1984 bulkhead does not have any of the holes show, and I am not looking to remove my fenders at the moment so I will have to find another way to route the wires

 

Dont want to hijack the thread, but where does the dome switch wire get voltage? That side of the dome light is dead and trying to hunt down where it ties into a 12v source.

 

THe switch side is the ground not the power supply

on my 109 I just drilled a small hole in the door pillars where I wanted the wires to come out. I ran the actual cable out through the bottom of the door pillar and clipped it to the back of the bulkhead outriggers inside a piece of corrugated split loom. where the wire comes out of the pillar I didn't have the proper LR part so i used a regular grommet and some more split loom. it looks ron good and does the job.

next time around I'll probably just find a different spot for the speakers.
