It looks like they bought a ~$8k MOD truck, replaced a couple of lights, maybe put on some new coil springs, restitched some seats, and then drove it over to MAACO. Oh and aromor-all'd the crap out of it. Not really a restoration, so they probably did it in-house. Doesn't look like a $70k truck. For that type of price I'd sell you my D90 which is way nicer.

I live 5 minutes from their office. I actually stopped by to see the copper 90 with 200TDI and talk to him again on Friday. Nice guy and loves Defenders. Has a few more on the way. To me, the prices are outrageous but they have been selling. I wonder for how much lower than asking.

The color is pretty bad but I am looking for something I can drive. Not looking for a daily driver but am going to want to drive it weekly.

I would love to tackle a resto on my current 110 but just don't have anywhere near the skills and ability.

If that truck is within your budget for a weekly driver, then mine is for sale! I'll even let it go for less than that.. :)

Neil Hanekom has a really solid mod 110 diesel softtop that has a new bulkhead and is well sorted, on ebay.

A customer brought an xmod 110 diesel softop that runs and drives fantastically well, and has all of the typical mod body 'mods', like the cracked tailgate from dropping it onto the pintle hitch, the dented bonnet from standing on the spare tire, and frequent applications of paint with a brush. It's listed in the For Sale section under Dreamrover.
Both are cars in the mid-teens and in IMHO, are very good examples of basic Rover transportation.

rolling back to my first days of Land Rover enthusiasm, we have to remember to novices that have dreamed of Rovers their whole life and or late in life and now have the money to buy one, all these look the same to the untrained eye. To quote the Top Gear fellahs, "Defenders are timeless". 87', 97', 07' all look the same.

At least that's my theory why people throw crazy money at them.

For me it was regret that I didn't buy the 93 110 new when I could, I bought a land cruiser instead..
Anyway I think your right mark
