I have a stock Defender 200tdi (high mount turbo) swapped

in my 1991 ex-FFR 110. I think I might have starved the turbo of oil. Its suddenly making a noise under boost. Its not an air leak.
If I have to replace the turbo are there any options other than the stock one?
Can I add a little more boost without making any other changes?
