I've got a '97 w/52k miles on it. It's not my daily driver, but I try to start it every weekend to keep everything running.
She always starts up, but when she does there's some tapping/knocking that comes from the engine for about 20 seconds and then it completely goes away. I'm no mechanic, but it sounds like the oil is taking time to circulate before it gets quiet... It doesn't happen unless she sits for about a week. A rover shop looked the engine over and says it's fine.
Can you guys please recommend an oil that might help reduce this (I use Castrol GTX 10w40 now)? Am I slowly killing my baby?
