No clue if it will fit in the hidden space.

I have the Nakatanenga rear tire carrier and it's solid! No doubt this is as well.

 

Where are you located? There are several Rover shops off the top of my head that could easily fab something like this for you.

 

I’d love to hear of any such shops around Texas

 

LR actually offered a similar winch mount for NAS trucks back in the day.

 

Well, this is just me, but I trust winches about as far as I can throw one. With the possibility of a bird's nest in mind, I would not have a winch buried behind a honkin bumper where I would have to literally remove the bumper to clear a jam. Neither would I have such a potato plow mounted under the front bumper where it would be vulnerable to trail damage.

 

Downsides aside - based on what I'm hearing, it doesn't seem like anyone makes an off-the-shelf set-up for this, besides Nakatanenga?

 

The second photo is a factory LR winch tray for the NAS 93 110 ... I ran one of these and contrary to Bills opinion I didnt dig up any potatoes or build a "birds nest" but as you mentioned this wasnt on a hard core trail rig just occasional wheeling. Post a wanted ad for a factory winch tray you might get lucky.

yes, I plan to fabricate a winch tray and design that tray so that it bolts onto/into the chassis rails and add 1/4 inch steel plates to reinforce the sides of the winch tray and to spread the load across the part of the bumper that sits between the chassis rails.
The winch you’re showing should fit nicely in that space.

Haha. No coincidence. I’m a fixed wing pilot too. It all had to be correct.
And yes the d130 is already a long vessel but that super wide angle lens definitely makes it longer. I love that D130!!
