I have a RHD 1991 Defender 110 200 Tdi that is stuck in low gear. Recently took it for a drive and when I tried to take it out of low gear I found that there was no resistance in moving the sector knob from low to high or high to low. I could however engage the diff lock (at least the light came on and it felt like the diff lock was engage). Otherwise the gears shift okay and it seems to drive normal for low gear. I haven't had time to poke around too much. Any thoughts on what could be going on? I hope I don't have to replace the whole transfer case.
