I think he's smart to go in this direction. Picking up a truck you have no history with and doing an engine swap is an undertaking that probably requires more time and multiple rolls of the dice.Why not convert one? buy a nice 110 lhd and find yourself a 300 tdi setup with it?
His comments are correct but I feel a small price to pay (bulkhead repair) for what you get in this rig. As I mentioned to Dave - If still around in a month or so, it'll (bulkhead) get repaired and a the 110 will become an ST to compliment the 90. Good luck in your search, Dave.It is.
