Changed the thermostat on the OM617. Had a suspicion the one in there was no good. Now she warms up faster and the needle stays in the middle which is great. Heat comes up much sooner and about ten times as hot now. 💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽
My 300tdi warm up time so there is heat is about twice this.

Finally got around to installing the OME 751front springs and the Bilstein heavy duty shocks. WhT a difference in ride. Different truck. Will do the rear springs tomorrow and it should level the truck and tidy up the steering as well. Should have done this a year ago. 💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽
755s up in the rear now. So much better!! Different truck for sure. Slight inch and a half raise in the rear but matches the front now. Love it.

I didn't install the wind blocker because it was steel, but holy hell, the wind noise is awful.
One trick that works on roof racks that are round tube is to coil a bungee cord all the way across around the front cross bars. Not so the coils touch each other, maybe an inch or so between wraps. That changes the airflow going over the front cross bars. Not sure if it’ll work as well since your rack is rectangle tube, but easy to try.

I put rock sliders on last weekend, but I'm waiting on my daughter to finish lacrosse practice and I'm board, so I thought I'd post.

I didn't quite clear something and bent my sill which I didn't think was too bad. However, when it went to fix it I discovered that I also ripped the bolt out of the body panel that attached to the brace. I drilled a new hole about 2" over to attach to back to the brace and tried to straighten everything back up. I also put in a crossmember to attach the sliders to since three doors are missing it.

Hopefully next weekend I'll have time to get the new suspension on!

I finished my suspension today. I started on Saturday, but I broke the rear shock mount and twisted off the studs on the shock tower ring so I had to wait for parts. A huge thanks to Zack and the guys at RN for accommodating my off hour needs. It's nice to be able to drive up there after hours and have a package waiting for me outside.
With Zach's recommendation I went with OME hd front and medium rear along with OME shocks and steering damper.
First picture is before when I was loading up tools (a fellow firefighter has a farm down the road from mine and has a concrete floor. All mine are dirt). The second is after. About a 1.5" lift in rear and a bit over 2" in front.
Next is repainting the doors to match ( finally found a match) and I'm making door cards to match the back one I made last year.

Replaced the downpipe. I’m not mad at the old down pipe. It started out for a 19j, then 200tdi and then it got a new flange for a swapped 300tdi. After welds and even liberally applied high temp epoxy, well, It’s been through a lot (of different engines) and now it’s retired.

Not quite the same waiting for delivery of the next Defender, but getting excited. Mounted some KO2s on to some new sawtooth alloys and checked the progress of the next Defender crossing the pond. A bit painful not seeing updates on the ship for three days haha

Will be parting with the Puma take-off wheels (white steel) and tires when I mount the new wheels so those will be hitting the market soon. On the fence between selling in Colorado or in California so, if anyone is interested in some wheels and tires let me know if either location would be better for you!
