I've done plenty of welding on frames, etc., but never on a vehicle with an ECU. I've heard precautions should be taken; heard go ahead and weld away. Have a little weld project on '95 D90 and just wondering what your experience has been. Disconnect battery sufficient to avoid any damage?
Thanks, people.

I've done a lot on welding on trucks with ECUs and never had an issue. With that said, it's better to be safe than sorry and disconnect.

Do your best to set it up so the welding current flows from the arc through the piece you're welding and to the ground clamp. Not from the arc then the long way round the body and chassis to the ground clamp.
