how are these removed, the fasteners? or should they just pop off? Of which they appear well attached?

and is this panel pulled off or are the attachments slotted?

The door handle will need to be removed (two screws on either side if I remember correctly) and then there are door card plastic bits holding to the frame with friction.

Get a forked trim removal tool for removing the door card so you don’t break so many of the fasteners. I find the plastic trim Christmas trees are never re-useable, the objective is to get them out without ruining the headliner material

Also, under the inside door latch/handle is a screw. Slide the housing around the latch/handle.

They're known as "pine tree" or push rivets. These come in about 10 gazillion varieties.

You also need to take the escutcheon off the door panel. It's the trim peice around the pop up lock. Just slide upwards.

A cheap trim removal kit is well worth the spend.
