Unplanned rebuild - chasing rust

Started chasing what I thought was a little rust. I have kept my truck in pretty good shape over the years. Always garage kept in the winter. But I did like to go up to Wisconsin for some snow wheelin during the winters. Its been a couple years since I have gone but the 5 or 6 years of winter wheelin caught up to me from the past.
I found some rust on my drivers side floorboard in September 2020. The rust was the size of a dime. I sanded and waxoyled the area and put down some touchup paint. By fall 22 I had a rust hole was the size of a grapefruit in the floorboard! I did not look at it during the time of the pandemic since I was not wheelin with my buddies.
I started to get some help with the truck at a local rover shop near the north side of Chicago. He got to work and started to look into areas of concern. We looked into the floorboard and the firewall we went onto the rear bumper and found more rust. Rust has invaded the frame as well. I had wanted to repair the rear bumper but it appears a bit to far gone for a simple repair. At this point it seems like it is time to get a new frame. I can't believe that the rust has advanced so quickly. I have been really good about spraying waxoyl on the underbody for the past 10 to 15 years. I plan on keeping the truck for years so the rebuild has begun.

Rust is gone! New galvanized frame, dipped bulkhead, rewired numerous aging bits, new Kenwood stereo, 4 usb plugs, winch shut-off switch with fuze breaker, new tie rod assembly, new floor boards on both sides, new sliders from L8, and replaced doors with old soft top style. I kept the hard top doors so I can go back to them again. I really prefer the hard top doors in the fall and winter. Also got heated seats on both driver and passenger hooked up.

I probably need a subwoofer so I can hear the music at highway speeds. And will probably paint the rear portion of the frame black so it is not so noticeable.

Any suggestions on a subwoofer that will fit well in a 90?

I think an old Ampeg SVT cabinet would fit, but not much else...

Depends where you want to put it, and whether you are just looking to fill in the bottom end, or thump..

MudUK sells a subwoofer 'locker' that goes under the center console, raising it about 4" and fits a number of small powered subs designed for under seat installation. Alpine sells a powered sub that was a dealer option in Europe, and attaches fairly cleanly to the back of the factory center console/cubby. these options should fill in the bottom end nicely, but aren't going to give you powerful base you feel in your chest (if that is what you are looking for)..

For that you are going to need bigger speakers/more amplifier. It can be done, just depends upon how much space you want to give up, how custom you want to go (and how much you want to spend), etc..

Also chasing rust...

If there's one thing I can't stand, it's a rusty ashtray!
