Had a little setback on the trail today. CV gave up the ghost, but we’ll roll home in 2WD and live to see another great day in the trails again fur-sure.

Factory jack being put to good use - as is the grass-skirt picnic blanket. Good show!

I don't know if i'm more impressed you did this on the trail, or that you had the forethought to carry a 52mm socket in your toolbox! 👏

Don’t need the 52mm socket, just a big channel lock plier or even hammer and chisel. A circlip plier is more important or you can be fighting the little clip on the end of the axle for a long time! Had to deal with one of these a couple of weeks ago on a snow run at Shaver Lake in CA with the NorCal Rover club. I will say that finding an exploded cv is much better than snapping a front axle and having to pull the diff to fish out the bits.
