What fastener companies and finishes does everyone use for their builds/restorations?

I've seen (on DS) Fastenal tossed around. I saw a Genuine washer for $5.01 yesterday. For non-safety related fasteners, I'd like to acquire a horde so I can just match and move forward. Years ago our shop used anodized Wurth, but it corroded fast on the Florida coast. Thanks everyone.

Atlas is the OEM supplier. They are still in business, so you can get the same thing if you like. You have to buy them thru places like britishfasteners.com. I have used McMaster Carr as my go to supplier of fasteners. They offer very good quality products at great prices. Unfortunately, you cannot buy individual fasteners unless you're talking large sizes (1/2" plus). You have to commit to box lots. You can choose from a wide variety of metallurgy. My 109 is built with all 316 stainless.

McMaster's website is the gold standard of online catalogs. They even have 3D models of every fastener you can download for free.

Bill,
What is the part # for the polypropylene (Teflon?) washers ECR/others are using between the SS hardware and Al body panels?
Nylon is the best material. Black or natural (off-white). 1/4 inch is pn 95606A430 for black. Just browse the plain nylon flat washer section.

Stainless fasteners

I bought stainless steel kits from STIG fasteners in UK, and then some from YRM and some from Fastenal.

STIG kits are pretty good, and are a supplier, recommended in the Land Rover Restoration Manual, so, a popular choice for UK resto jobs.
It is not in any way cheaper to buy these bolts individually from Fastenal or its equivalents, as you will be stuck with minimum order quantity and will overpay that way.

Yea, that's why I have a couple of boxes of corrosion-resistant Grade 8 bolts now (bought to mount my winch). :)

FWIW, I have a local Ace Hardware that maintains a very good stock of Hillman Group fasteners. I check with them first. Same was true of the Ace by the last house.

I have this old-school hardware store I go to in Cambridge MD. Since they get a lot of trade with watermen they have pretty much every size fastener in 316 stainless or silicon bronze.
