FWIW..A master Mercedes mechanic told me on the upper pan all he uses is the grey permitex, after removing all gasket material down to bare metal
said the orignal stuff was over priced and too difficult to find

FWIW....ex mod LT77&1.6, Roverdrive, mine can do 65mph all day long, just valve adjustment worked fine

Maxis 255's n very happy with them, probably running faster than mentioned

For my two cents on performance I added a functional snorkel, it made a HUGE difference, so much I gave up the intercooler idea.

Don, took a bit to figure the full travel on the IJ pump, when figured out ran just fine.

Pretty sure we talked via email last year about it ;-)

They're not that hard to replace, check peach parts diy section,
Discouraged yea, but might happen on next one too

Get an electronic fan,
I went with the taurus fan kit,
The fan sets too far back unless you're moving the radiator back to it,
For the fan to work properly it has to be very close

Don, mine will run soooooooo much better after a long 5 hour trip, don't know why, but it seems to be the trick

I just asked for the 7.5mm treatment, wouldn't go back at all n stick with "The Wizard" he knows his stuff

Oh, if irrc, he only will do 8mm on MW pumps, we figured that was more than what I was looking for

Had that happen before, try cracking the lines n bleed it again
