Hi Guy's

Its not my defender but the wives lr3. The sun roof is not working pulled fuse 20 still ok. Tried re calibrating the sunroof 20 second trick not working so i am getting more frustrated:)
Could it be a bad switch? any ideas?

This is why i love the simplicity of the defender.

Starting with the simpler things, could be switch.
I don't know about the LR3, but if the sunroof is stuck in the open position on older Rovers, there is an emergency hand crank under the front interior light. A hex wrench is all it takes.

There is no setting for the sunroof in the LR scanner or any other other scanner so it a old fasion trace. Ive never heard of the sunroof motor going bad so I would start at the switch. have fun...:)

During VOT my partner's got stuck open and if I recall Trevor & Keith ended up on the computer (testbook?) fixing it. Have you tried a hard reset of the truck? Gotta love a laptop on wheels

Not a laptop on wheels. It's a frigging network mainframe.
All the computers is the one thing I hate about my Range Rover.

Hi guy's thanks.

It unbelievable! after the sunroof got stuck the blower motor went. Just replaced the blower motor, was a easy fix now working like a charm.
Ok i will replace the switch see wat happens.

tried to convince my wife to rade it in. She went nuts, trade in the defender was her comment:)

Them's fighting words.
The bike and the Rover were here before my wife.
Now she's gone. But the bike is still here and now I have two Rovers.

You might want to test the switch before you replace it? I'd hope that's still possible on an LR3.... Unless of course the "switch" ends up being a computer on its own.... ;)

Now that the truth is out, having done some previous repairs, it's possible a wire is unplugged.
If the switch checks out, follow the wiring.
