Replaced old wore-out window glass felt-channels with new genuine ones. Old ones were completely knackered near the bottoms. It seems there is nothing to keep them in place so they rub and move about.

There are two lower screw holes on the new channels but they don't line up with anything on the door. There are shims available (MUC4073), but I'm not sure if the purpose is to reduce glass-channel gap, keep channel rigid at the bottom, or both. I'm not even sure most Defenders even have these shims. Mine didn't. Maybe the felt-channel is supposed to be loose at the bottom to account for movement in the windows regulator. And ideas?

Do your old window channels look flayed out like mine pictured above? Are they hanging loose on the bottom, or secured in some way?
