They don't make parts for it anymore? I had to take my 1994 Defender 90 into the shop because of erratic idle and engine stalling out. The problem turn out to be a hose is falling apart. The shop said can't get the hose from Land Rover anymore and if they could it would be around $400.00. They jury-rigged a fix using the old hose but what will I do when there is no more hose to fix? And $400.00? What is that hose made of? Mammoth intestine? The part is PART NUMBER: ESR1316 DESCRIPTION: Pipe - cleaner to plenum. Someone must have run into this problem before!

I think it was mammoth foreskin, but don't worry, most of the stuff is more readily available, and if not, solutions have been made. When it gets real bad, we'll all be doing LS swaps or the like.

presto is right.. or you could use a 4" hose..

When the motor wears out you upgrade to a diesel (pick you favorite Defender one and it will fit) or an LS motor.

Defenders don't wear out they just need more parts.

It is not pretty but you can get a hose from the performance section of the auto parts store. You will also need to get a couple of adapters as the hose ends need to be a little different, ie air cleaner vs plenum. It will get you by until one of the vendors starts making some more.

I'd be surprised if a wrapped layer or two of Gorilla tape would not work in a pinch (or forever). Or the specialized high temp and pressure tapes (although these are $$ and not necessary for this application).

lol - done !

the tape idea is a good one... if your really in a bind i can send you my old one until you can get a silicone one from Ash. Then just send it back to me when your new one comes in. let me know
Ash's are very nice.

also - frankly i would look the ignition amplifier - mine started to go and resulted in some of the same symptoms (and a hard start)
