Looks like a relay that won't allow the headlamps to work unless the ignition is switched on is my guess.
This theory is based on decoding the wire colors.
white = ignition
blue = power to headlamp switch
blue with red = low beam headlamp
red = parking lamps

The problem with providing any further information is the pictures you supplied don't show the area where the plug fits, nor does it show exactly where the plug goes and if it is a relay what the pin numbers are where the plug fits.
Without more information, it's impossible to be certain.

It's "Lucas"...keep it unplugged.
Ahh yeah I cant photo the plug pin where its located onthe module. I suspected was something of a relic from its prior life as a diesel but this makes sense

So are you saying that these 2 parts provide the same functionality, because they sure look different in the pictures unless the first photo is a side view.
Inaccurate pictures generate inaccurate responses, I guess.

It does not seem to be a land rover part, perhaps some kind of power amplifier, signal stabilizer, part of a uhf radio maybe.... it has heat sinks for cooling so it must have had some kind of power output.
Remove and inspect all sides, it may have something to identify it's purpose.

So it’s a dim dip controller. That’s one of those Euro mandates. It controls the headlights. A sensor senses headlights of an oncoming vehicle and flips the headlights from full beam or brights to dipped beam without the driver’s input.
my F150 does the same thing and honestly I like it.
