Some good news for a Monday morning. As many people will know, the high quality OEM spec engine mounts that I have been selling for several years, have now been unavailable for a few months after the manufacturer stopped making them. This was bad news for anyone with a 200TDi or older diesel Land Rover as the "pattern" mounts on the market are all as hard as rock and give major vibration problems, not just at idle but through the rev range.

I have been hunting round for an alternative and this morning received a pair of sample mounts which I immediately fitted to a 200TDi-engined vehicle. This is one I converted about three years ago and already had the good quality mounts on it. One of them had been softened by diesel leaking onto it from the injection pump. I already had test data from the manufacturer comparing their mount to the sample I sent them, from which you can see that on test the two mounts performed pretty much identically.

Switching from the old mounts to the new sample mounts produced a very slight increase in vibration, no more than you would expect with new vs 3 year old mounts. I then fitted a pair of cheapish mounts, I have been using these as a temporary solution as they are a bit softer than the ones sold by Britpart etc, so they are by no means the worst on the market. With these mounts fitted the vibration was horrible.

Conclusion - these new mounts are as good as the ones I have been selling for the last six years. They are British made, the same diameter as the original mounts. The only difference is that the studs are around 5mm longer which can make it difficult to get a ring spanner onto the nearside upper nut unless the stud is shortened slightly. Angle grinder, 10 seconds, job done.

I will now be placing a large order for these mounts which will be available shortly from my Ebay shop, £29.95 a pair including UK postage. Watch this space.

Goods news!

They are back in stock. I just ordered a set of 4, see if they make any difference over the Bearmach.

I just installed a pair under my tranny (previously did the motor with Glencoyne mounts too). I should have done all four when I first did it. The tranny mounts really took the remaining vibration out. I was stopped at a light with music playing and worried that it had stalled because I didn't feel the motor at all...nope, it was still running. If you are considering new mounts, buy four of these. You'll be a happy camper.

Awesome. Mine came in the other day, maybe I can find time to install tomorrow. The rubber seems nice quality
Adam, make this fun and do a Hula-girl myth buster YouTube test, before and after. A glass of water would prob work too, just not as scientific.

So are the bearmach BFM560 the same as the glencoyne ones? If not, Anyone use both have a prefernece?. Seems like bearmach's are 6$ and Glencoyne are 70$ shipped to the US. If no noticeable difference seems like a no brainer to go Bearmach. Sorry for bringing back and old thread.
