I just wanted to let you all know that I setup some social media profiles for Defender Source. If you are on Facebook, Twitter or Google, please like or follow us. We need to get at least 25 likes on facebook and followers on Google+ before we can get a custom URL. So hook up the Source and connect with us on those sites!

We'll be using these pages to syndicate some of our content like showcasing some of the trucks in our Registry, spreading the word about trucks for sale and hot discussions. We can also use these to communicate should our site ever go down. As the internet evolves we need to keep up so we can stay relevant.

Post Labor Day Weekend bump...

I've been doing a little advertising of the facebook page and it's getting plenty of likes.

We really need more folks to connect with us on Google+ so we can get a custom URL. I know lots of you have Google accounts. Please follow our Google+ page:

I had a member PM me asking why I set these up. I wanted to share with you all the background so you can understand as well. Basically I randomly came across the Land Rover Defender group on Facebook that has over 10,000 members now. They have tons of truck porn being shared and appears to be pretty popular. I feel it's important that online forum communities be part of the internet ecosystem so I set the pages so we can share some of the great stuff we have going on here as well.

As I mentioned in the first post (see below) we'll be sharing stuff from this site onto our social media pages in an effort to bring awareness of the Source to other Defender owners (amazingly many don't know about this site). We'll be featuring trucks from the registry, linking to trucks for sale in our classifieds and post some links to topics that are must reads. This will also give the casual readers of the Source a nice reminder to come back and visit.

As with everything in life, if you don't want people to see your truck, then please don't post it in the registry. The registry is publicly available and this if you want 100% privacy about it, please keep it on your hard drive at home.
