Hello Everyone.
Just signed in to the forum and will need some help from all experts.
I just purchased a 1992 Def 90 Trophy.
NOT the Camel Trophy .... a TROPHY in its original configuration.
I heard they were made only for the French Market.
Can anyone tell me more about those?
How many were made?
Are they numbered?

will fill in later as help arrives from members
Cheers

According to the James Taylor (not the singer) books on the production history of the LR Series/Defender, starting in the late 80's Land Rover dealers most especially in France began marketing a number of "special editions" that featured different paint colors, decals, and option packages etc. For instance, my rig from Italy has some neat "go faster" stripes and a "TURBO D[iesel]" decal.

To my knowledge none of these is particularly collectible beyond the already quite high level of collectibility of any Defender (exceptions being the original Camel Trophy, NAS, and (not yet importable) 50th Anniversary and "Tomb Raider" rigs).

The Taylor books should tell you some of the details of the production numbers, etc. for your truck--but be aware that Defenders are so bolt-together modular that the current configuration of seats, colors, etc. could have little relation to how the truck was shipped from the factory.
