I LOVE the idea of buying an expensive chassis! You get to start clean and make sure each nut, bolt, and material is up to your standards. And who cares what others think? I do get it actually. Sometimes you want to feel like you're doing what's right for the truck. But it's looking awesome and fun. The new axle looks amazing!

I can't see any harm in coating a chassis in Line-X.

So, not the best start to placing the motor….
Attached torque converter to engine,

First issue is dust shield above the starter doesn’t seem to fit well, not sure if I’ve got the wrong piece or I’m doing it wrong.., the bolt to attach doesn’t line up when mounted.

Decided to continue…
Mounted transmission to motor, and set motor on motor mounts. I’m using the v8 gear box cross member , it seems like something is wrong because oil pan is sitting on the cross member.

not sure if maybe engine is tilting too far, so was going to mount rw engineering adapter plate and the lt230 to transmission so I could see where else the lt230 is mounted to frame, but my rebuilt new lt230 from Ashcroft seems to have a dowel that is damaged so it won’t line up to rw-eng adapter…

because it’s not a perfect circle, it won’t line up to the adapter. I will have to fix it before I can mount up…… not the best Sunday but making progress :) on a positive side, the engine is sitting on the mounts.

Not the greatest pics. I’m looking from the passenger side, just in front of the crossmember. I’ll get some new pics when I’m back in Denver. But the pan clears by plenty. The catalytic converters come really close though! This may be better for you if you followed the textbook placement for the mounts.
