I am new to the forum. I have a 1997 Defender 90 NAS, V8. I just bought a galvanized chassis from rovers north. I had ordered bolts to attach the bracket, lower roll cage. These brackets require bolts that thread into captive nuts on the frame. BRACKET LH LOWER ROLL CAGE DEFENDER, PLQ648 - Rovers North - Classic Land Rover Parts They sent M10 1.5s bolts. They just don't want to go and I am not looking to mess up this new chassis by brut force.

That is the link to the bracket. Question: Does anyone have a parts manual that would cover this ? All the ones I see do not show this part.

Thanks in advance for your assistance.

It's possible that the insert has galvanizing built up in the threads and needs to be chased with a tap, but I'd double check those bolts first -- I want to say that should be an M8 x 1.25.

Thanks Ash. All jazzed to get the re-assembly going and this is the first hiccup. Not a big deal, just frustrating.
