I'm guessing these will always hold value or continue to climb with only limited NAS #s being produced . I watch the BAT auctions and prices are all over the board even with high milage trucks . Will they continue to climb regardless as fewer will come on the auction block as they are being bought up? Not that I ever plan to sell any time soon but want to drive it more .if it is a NAS then yes mileage will effect value more than a row
I'm going with that advice ! Lol Thank you! I do have a weird intermittent issue if anyone has experienced this. If I'm cruising along in 3rd or 4rth gear with traffic , every so often it will BUCK on me. Almost like it shuts down and regains power. In the 7 years I've owned it I've had this looked at and it seems as though temporary fixes such as cap and rotor fixed it but only for about 1000 miles or so. It happens intermittently but is scary when it does. Its a 3.9 manual . Anyone have any ideas?
Thank you for the insight . I'll check it out .Ignition components such as ignition control module and coil and their connections could cause bucking you describe.
personally I don’t think adding AC would devalue you truck. It was an option back in 94/95 I believe.
Is it the original 3.9 gas motor with that many miles or is it a diesel? Impressive. I just can't seem to get this intermittent bucking fixed on mine. Have you taken it on long trips? I get nervous going out of my zip code . LolI’ve had my 90 for almost 20 years and it’s been a daily driver from the very beginning. I don’t use the AC very often, but there is a day or two each summer when it’s nice to have. She’s got just under 200k miles and I’m irresponsibly accountable for 170k of them. Do what floats your boat, but by no means wait to enjoy where these things can take you and the good company you’ll likely be with.

If you live in Virginia did you trailer the Land Rover Defender 90 there? If you drove a D-90 from Virginia to Colorado you got guts or youre a Land Rover tech. I took mine to the beach once and was a nervous wreck. Lol Would love to see more pictures! Is it the original 3.9 gas motor with that many miles or is it a diesel? Impressive. I'm going to . I just hope it always maintains some value if if I run it up to 200,000 miles. Its lots of fun. I think these need to be driven .I added AC to my NAS 94 and its definitely worth it in the summer - considering you have a SW it should be even more worth it.
Regarding mileage - if you have a truck with under say 50K miles then daily-ing it will cause it to lose value but if its got 100K+ on the clock just drive the hell out of it.
This is a 97, which came with the 4.0L GEMS. She’s even running on all her original gaskets and seals. I take it everywhere, but for the Colorado trip I put it on a flatbed. I didn’t have the time to drive out and back, plus spend two weeks in CO. The key to these things, IMO, is drive them often and keep it filled with clean fluids. I’ve never used the high end fluids, just the basic stuff that is hopefully on sale at Autozone. Is it the original 3.9 gas motor with that many miles or is it a diesel? Impressive. I chose to flatbed it out and back so I could spend more time in CO. I’ve done that trip before a few times and that’s enough. The 90 would have done fine but I would’ve been pretty tired on both ends.If you live in Virginia did you trailer the Land Rover Defender 90 there? Don't stress about these things. You SHOULD get to know your truck and be a mechanic for sure. I broke down three times on this trip, two of which had the same failure (brake master cylinder). But I met some wonderful people (many from this forum!) to help me along my way. This was with my ground-up 110 build with a 300TDI:If you live in Virginia did you trailer the Land Rover Defender 90 there?
