AB will be stocking 300TDI timing belt upgrade kits that are OEM not aftermarket. I am taking preorders now for what I have coming in on 7-16-10. Please let me know if you need a set.

Item # STC4096KOEM price $149.95

What does the kit include? belt, tensioner, gasket?
This might be exactly what I need. I'm planning on working on this on the 24th of July.

Glad you guys are carrying these.
Can you tell us the manufacturer of the belt and other bits?
I can not yet, all I know at this point is the supplier said they are OEM. Once they arrive I will see if I can pull the info off them.

I found this ancient thread through a web search that was prompted by a line in an article in the current issue of Overland Journal: “Land Rover’s disgraceful hush-up of the cambelt misalignment/failure problem on the 300Tdi diesel engine was discovered just in time before leaving.”
Do the sides on the crank gear prevent the belt from ‘walking’ and becoming misaligned, leading to premature wear?

I’m about to put a recently sourced/refurb’d 300Tdi (from Australia) in my 90 and want to ensure I don’t end up with the early wear on the belt that I’ve seen in some other threads.
