As a driveway enthusiast, I have used both on different 300tdi’s. The machine shop suggested the metal version and that’s what went in. The composite version that came out showed signs of being pinched. 2 years old and installed pre import. Use what you’re comfortable with.

I have used both versions of head gaskets on 300tdi projects. Side by side comparison was that I preferred the metal set up vs the composite. The bolts torqued up easier and I am bias towards using the metal version. Almost 20k on it since head overhaul and no issues to report.
How long did it take for you to do the HG?
