You can use a PH8A equivalent. It is a longer filter, but fits fine. It is probably the most common filter size around.

Wix 51515, Napa Gold 1515 or Baldwin B2.
I wouldn't use OEM (Cooper), they are crap (rubber anti-drainback valve rather than silicone and bypass on the dome end) compared to the above 3.

I've often used the Toyota 15600-41010 filter on my Tdi 200. This filter is specified for Toyota 3B, 14B, 2H, 12HT and other engines which have a capacity of 3,5 to 4 litre naturally aspired and turbo charged diesel engines. Its a larger capacity filter and fits straight on the the Defender. Ive havent noticed any negative effects on oil at any temperature, so Im assuming this is at least as good as the specified Land Rover part.​
