Land Rover Defender 90 4x4 (1994)

Land Rover Defender 90 4x4 (1994) - $30,000 (Mid-City, LA)

1994 land rover defender 90

VIN: SALDV2285RA940053

Plaque 872

Mileage: 121,333

Color: Portofino Red

Condition: Excellent

Title Status: Clean

Seller's Description:

Land Rover Defender 90 1994 w/ 112K mi, upgraded '95 Transmission, new BFG Tires, and numerous extras. This truck has been featured in many photo shoots, and a movie poster, rides smooth, highway due to Bilstein shocks.
Aluminum interior/exterior body panels, etc., a truly exotic "jeep", with four different convertible tops, removable, folding "jump seats", Safari Gard protection equipment.

I do have the full service manual, and service was done by, Hornburg Land Rover in the early years, and Four Oaks Garage in more recent years.

There are more than $8K in extras/modifications that can be difficult to find, and expensive.

I'm the original owner and purchased it from Land Rover Encino in 1995.

Using "Jeep" as an adjective is frowned upon here. (Truck looks nice though!)

I was going to look at it but it has a few issues people should be aware of:
rust hole in bulkhead drivers side
odometer not hooked up since 2000.

I went to check it out. The hole is the size of a golf ball in the passenger floor but the rest of the truck looks fairly rust free. It looks like it sat outside most of the time. It has a nice tickford and the paint looks like it would shine up nicely. Definitely needs TLC.

Will only sell locally, even if wiring funds from B of A. Would like a messenger to see the truck and delivery a certified check.

It looks like a nice $20-25k Defender.

Guy told me the doors had some rot. I have a friend who has seen it parked on the street for years and said it looked beat.

Did it have a belt rail?

Saw the truck last week. Nice guy and had it from day one. Condition is rough but good projects. Big rust on the floor as well as driver door, tops are fair condition. rust is there but not horrible. Drives rough and millage is unknown. Needs lots of work. Paint is badly fainted but may come back to life with nice cut polish. Diamond plate in the back cabin.

I revise my prior statement. Will be a nice $17,500 truck in December through February. Those deals will return, but they take immediate funds and endless online searching.

I have my eye on two non-runners, one on MVY and one on ACK. Once the winter fog rolls in, I will make offers. Both relatively low miles. Neither have moved in my 4 seasons on the islands. Same strategy may work on this one for someone local.
