This truck is originally from Spain and is a replica of the 1987 Camel Trophy Rally support Range Rovers used that year in Madagascar.
Since purchasing the vehicle in 2018 the following improvements have been made:
New, larger rebuilt engine (4.2 V8), new motor mounts, water pump, serpentine belt, drive belt, power steering hose, coolant hose.
AC unit replaced with new AC lines.
New electric twin fan unit & controller (11"), new battery (replaced in 2021).
New forward driving lights, mounted rear work lights with new wiring on expedition rack. New blower motor resistor for heater/AC.
Custom 2" tow hitch wired and mounted. New upper tailgate assemble and side latches. New Rock Sliders.
Replaced Viscous coupling, bearing and seal, replaced rear differential, New Clutch, clutch master and clutch slave cylinders.
Five new BFG (245) All Terrain Tires. Five rare Land Rover Rostyle wheels, 2" Lift.
Replaced front and rear shock assemblies and added a new OME steering damper.
Replaced all major bushings (blue set from Atlantic British)
Installed anti-sway bars - front and rear.
Engine Temp Thermostat, LED headlight bulbs (white), Power Steering pump replaced.
Racing Aluminum Radiator and oil cooler installed, New muffler heat shield.
Oil change, EFI tuned. Both front seats reupholstered in December 2022.
All electrics currently function. Vehicle includes expedition accessories shown in photos.
The Camel has proven itself on extended trips to the back roads of Big Bend National Park and Devils River (2019), and at the Hill Country Rover Rally (2021).
