Yes, I've searched and all I can find is how to determine good or not. Is there a step-step-guide out there on how to replace the fan clutch? I've ordered a replacement clutch and the wrench from Zack but would like some guidance before I start into this. 95 NAS Wagon btw Thanks Board!! KCD

About 18 months ago I replaced my viscous fan clutch (LR genuine part) and it has failed... I was told from where I bought it, that there was a "bad run" of fan clutches ....and it's covered under warranty for one year only and I was out of luck. Seems like a bad deal all around for me...

After an hour of messing with the viscous fan clutch bolt, any help to keep the pulleys from spinning while trying to knock the nut loose? Yes, working at it knowing it’s a reverse thread. Even tried chisel on the edge of the nut. Not budging for me. Those of you who have replace, what are...

I've long been curious if my fan clutch is working properly. With fall approaching I have some downtime so here's what I've found. Stock 1995 NAS with 3.9 V8. Engine off the fan can be spun by hand but it stops immediately and has no momentum or free spin. Cold start the fan engages with the...

Trying to remove the ceased fan clutch on my TD5. I have the correct spanner wrench for the nut. I have a strap around the plastic fins, and I'm hitting the wrench with a hammer. I can't get it loose. Any tips?

I have my water pump in-had and just found out I need a fan clutch too - for a 1986 defender 2.5L diesel ex-mod. I have it on good source that British Atlantic's Viscous Fan Clutch for a 3.9L is the same, but British Atlantic could not confirm this and they said they do not have parts listing or...

I am about to have my fan clutch replaced as my original is shot. Go genuine or aftermarket? The price difference is substantial, Genuine is close to $500, aftermarket around $100, but if this is one of those parts where you should go with genuine, please advise. Thanks in advance!

I must not be using the right keywords for the search, so I can't find a proper answer to this question! :( Hopefully, you will know what to look for and provide either proper keywords, direct links or first hand knowledge! :) What part # can be used for a '95 V8 (v-belts) D90 fan clutch? I am...

Found the wrench pictured below at Performance Bike. One of the sizes was 32mm and the price was right.

Hi All, Let's face it, the 2.5 petrol and 2.5 NA diesel just have no ass. Get them on a hill and suddenly you are dropping down in gears just to sorta keep up with traffic..... 80ish HP will do that :) Perhaps the best solution is to grab a 200 or 300 tdi (I might know where...

I'm obviously an idiot. I've been wrestling with this for 2 days now, and I know it's reverse thread to remove - it won't budge. This is for a '94 NAS 3.9L V8. Being reverse thread, everything I've read states to go towards the driverside to remove. Is that right? A lot of what you read states...
