All. I did some searching on this, but could not find anything. I think my crankshaft seal has gone bad. I am loosing oil and can only see what looks like oil doing out up between the crankshaft pulley, and the block. How difficult is it to change this? I am hoing it does not involve...

Hey all, I'm currently looking for crankshaft damper pulley part number ERR7373 (new part number), which superseded ERR4922. This is for a 1997 NAS Defender 90 with the 4.0-liter V8, and obviously the part also fits the Discovery with the same engine. None of the "usual suspects" have the...

I have a 99 model Disco 1 that I swapped a 96 300tdi and R380 into about 5 years ago. Its been running well but 2 days ago, after a short drive I restarted at home and the oil light stayed on. I shut off and tried again about 3 times. Oil light stayed on solid each time. I removed...

Came out of an engine that decided to catastrophically connect two cylinders, but I have no idea if that would affect this or not. Had about 150,000 miles on it before that. Asking $500 or best offer, pickup preferred, you pay freight. Open to any and all offers.

Looking for a sanity check--I read on another LR site about the crankshaft sensor being a potential cause for the engine not turning over and staying on. I am looking for feedback from anyone who has had that issue or thinks my diagnosis is off base. My upper radiator hose blew (another...

I had the pleasure of removing my seized timing gear from the crankshaft today on my 300 tdi. I have the timing belt tool kit, but it did not include a crankshaft gear puller. I figured I post up how I did it in case anyone else runs into this issue. The timing gear has 3 5mm bolt holes in it...

I am trying to swap out the crankshaft pulleys on a 3.5 V8. I have the pulley/dampener assembly pulled but I can not separate the pulley from the dampener. From all the diagrams I have seen these should be separate parts. I have tryed tapping a wedge between them, but they wont budge. I notice...

Why do all the kits have a new crankshaft gear? If it is already updated to the new type with shoulder do you need to replace the gear every time you change the belt even if the oil seal is OK?
