History
Purchased in June 2018 by me in Durango CO by the member here: "mdmccallum". Mike has done all the hard work on this beauty! Im so excited and honored to have been able to acquire this from Mike. He was an honest and thoughtful seller.
This 1997 Land Rover Defender 90 was a 2-owner factory station wagon that was purchased by the 2nd owner out of Oklahoma 16 years ago and used as a daily driver for five years before becoming a weekend adventure vehicle. Power comes from a factory 4.0-liter V8 mated to a 4-speed automatic transmission, and modifications for offroad use include suspension, driveline, and gearing upgrades along with underbody protection, a winch, and more.
Mike took great care of the truck and I intend to do the same!

Modifications
Drivetrain
Power is sent to all four wheels from a Rover 4.0L V8 through a ZF 4HP22 4-speed automatic transmission and LT230 transfer case with manually-locking center differential.
Oil changes have been reportedly been performed every 3,000 miles using non-synthetic oil. A new alternator has been installed, and a recent compression test reportedly revealed all eight cylinders to be within factory specs.
New Serpentine belt installed, July 2018, approx 102,000 miles.

Interior
Interior trim is largely stock with grey vinyl buckets, four side-facing jump seats, and grey carpeting. Rubber OEM floor mats are up front and a storage net is suspended over the cargo area.
A custom onboard air setup repurposes the air conditioning compressor to run power tools or inflate the tires when offroad and includes a frame-mounted tank under the passenger seat as well as a pressure gauge in the lower dash. Only the internal parts for the air conditioning unit were removed for the conversion according to the seller. The D90 is equipped with a CB radio, bumper-mounted Firestik antenna, Alpine stereo, JBL amp, Memphis Audio speakers, and a subwoofer.
Aug 2018, roof leaking a decent amount so I applied Sikaflex caulking to all seams on the roof, gutters and around the sunroof. Seems to have stopped the water issues. Next is the rebuild of the gaskets of the rear sliding windows with the Garrison kit (completed one side only.)
10-9-19 - 107,500 miles: Oil Change, Front and rear Diff Oil change, Added new grease to Swivel Balls.
Roof Top Tent 10-11-19 - fun and off to Overland East Expo!
March 2020: In hopes of attending Electric Forest and a fun road trip to MI, I added a new Redtop Optima for Starting and a second YellowTop Optima for accessories including a new 4 channel amp, and 3000 watt inverter with gauges. I added a nice plexiglass control panel for fuses, busses and a battery monitor.....show cancelled due to Covid 19.
