Defender Challenge Wings: yes or no

Hi All, What do y’all think of the Challenge wings?

I already need to do body work/paint. I eventually plan to convert my 110 to a soft top (p&p or all wheel cage and top). As I consider both of these projects, the challenge wings seem like a good idea. I also like the look. I also don’t plan to keep this Defender forever, so not sure of the wider market appeal?

Thanks,
Mike

IMHO anything not stock especially that which makes it look like it has been off-roaded hurts value. That being said, I love challenge wings. I remember seeing them on devon4x4 builds.

I've been thinking about these for a while, I like them but I'll likely will wait till I badly damage my current stock wings.

These would work with a Rover fully modded out for hardcore rock climbing, trialing etc. and look right with monster tires and lift, ext cage etc. Originality is not an issue in that case.

Thanks y’all. This is all helpful input. I personally like it and will save it for a future project. Stock on this one

What did you use for fender flares?

Hey Bill,

As I’ve looked into it, there are some kits designed to have standard flare mounts. Doug indicates he has a set, might check with him to see if the mounts are there

My idea- I’d galvanize the frame, powder coat and install. Then in the future, replacing the fender sheet metal is as easy as cutting another flat sheet to fit.
