I have a 127, a 130, and a 110 all with 200Tdi. They all run different, but they all run well. Of course, expectation management whilst driving is part of the overall level of satisfaction.
I am never certain that any new to me 200Tdi IP has not been ratfucked. There are tons of videos and written advice where guys just start turning star wheels and smoke screws without actually having a solid grasp of as-is settings. For my 200’s right now, I have no baseline. Dougs steps above are a solid step in right direction. OP states he lives in the Midwest, as do I. There are Bosch VE pumps on many variations of ag equipment, and there are agricultural diesel specialty shops about every 200 miles or so. I am looking at having a shop in Sioux City rebuild a spare pump, and test a set of injectors. Will use those and set valve timing to get as close to “stock” settings before fine tuning.
