johnsquire25802

***HEADS UP EVERYONE***

yetanotherwittyusername aka smokeandpetfreehome is now pedalling his shitty Land Rovers under the ebay user ID:

johnsquire25802

The yetanotherwittyusername/smokeandpetfreehome IDs he appears to have stopped using. It is still there, under the latter ID, but has been unusually dormant for over a month now (since the Landcruiser fiasco).

johnsquire25802 I strongly suspect is Gwilym ******, although in the listing below John Squire claims to be 'selling on behalf of a friend'. I sense that this ID is one of Gwilym's many other IDs (or imaginary friends) that he uses to shill bid on his listings?

Just check out the listing in the link below; it's the usual bollocks... iffy Defender, same cut and paste text and, same location, video production, photo angles etc. and begins with the ubiquitous line: 'If you are looking for a really good all round USA Exportable Land Rover 90 County, this is for you!'

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Land-Rove...QAAOSwGW9apCsB

Bidders beware!

No. He lives in Halifax and has a storage unit in Holmfirth, both of which are in spitting distance of Huddersfield (as is Sowerby Bridge where John Squire apparently resides).

Just had a look at johnsquire25802's seller feedback. Quite interesting... Have a look at page 2. Some of the negative comments sound very familiar. It also seems that johnsquire25802 had a break from selling after a run of bad feedback and has only just come alive again. Coincidence? Me thinks not!

I concur, the completed listings definitely show the same vehicles listed on the other known alias accounts for Gwilym ******.

I'm curious to know whey Gwilym ******'s (H-A-Y-M-A-N) last name is asterisked over in all of the posts on the site. Has he threatened the admin team here with legal action???

Just another warning, he is becoming very deceptive with his listing practices. Now "selling for a friend" under the Ebay username bluestevie9

Just want to help any potential buyers know who they are dealing with by updating this thread. He obviously knows we are on to him and continues to change the username he sells under. He certainly cannot deny he his going to great lengths to deceive potential buyers.

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Land-Rove...UAAOSwv~laxivO

This one below is the same one he listed under the ebay username johnsquire25802

BUYER BEWARE!

I was just about to post words to the same effect as the above after noticing D706NWJ listed yet again.

Interesting though that (this time) Gwilym (aka: yetanotherwittyusername, smokeandpetfreehome, johnsquire25802, bluestevie9) has added the caveat: "People's opinions on what is clean or not vary, so you must not expect a 31 year old Defender to be like a new car and although we know this Defender starts and drives, it's not immaculate. That's why I've included lots of photos and a video below so you know what you are bidding on and there are no surprises. Do not show up making comments like "there's a tiny patch of oil on the sump" or "how can my wife drive this", it's an old Defender and you should expect it to drive like one

As this is being sold with a short MOT it is being sold as seen/project for light renovation."

Don't be fooled. It's still the same mutton dressed as lamb being sold by the same unscrupulous individual.

He has also listed this 110 CSW:

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Land-Rove...UAAOSwv~laxivO

And this TD5 that Gwilym had previously listed several times a few months back and by johnsquire 25802 recently:

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Land-Rove...8AAOSwgKBaxhsL

Interestingly johnsquire25802's feedback took a turn for the worse after his attempt to sell this vehicle! It's negative and reads like this: "wasn't as described as in superb meechanical condition. has not returned depost". Now doesn't that sound familiar... Especially the not-returned deposit!

I like how they don't even remove the front headlamp surrounds when they spray bomb them

Exclamation

Update: He is currently peddling his dodgy defenders on ebay UK under the seller ID:

eyaaaay

...and is still very much marketing them to trap the unsuspecting US buyer.

Can you post the links and vins? So if people looking to buy google the info, hopefully this thread will be in the search results and a potential buyer saved from being completely scammed.
