Bought a nice ex mod 110 so that part of the trip is done.

Now im trying to find a house or cottege to rent from wednesday Aug 7 till Monday the 12th to use as base. Thinking somewhere around Ulapool, Fort William/Glenco or Sky.

Sorted Catherine booked an apartment at Castle Eilean for 5 nights. Should be an amazing base of operations.

Bought the 110. Ex RAF 110 2.5NA with power steering. Now the fun begins. It really needs paint. This is Catherine’s Rover so she picked RAF blue. I think it will look amazing once done

Long list of stuff to do before the trip but at least we have the Rover now.

final planning. Just need to plan what to do well in the Eileen Donna castle area. I figure two days driving around Skye as it’s so close. Then a trip down to the Commando museum.

Day two is going to suck for the kids. That’s a hard 450 mile push to Edinburgh. Not much I can do about that.

Rover is coming along. Being painted this week. Then it’s going over all the mechanical’s. Mounting KM3 tires, and the interior stuff like usb chargers.

Planning on doing this route also. Only 45 minutes from the Castle.

Going to have to make sure the brakes are good!

All sanded and paint going on. I think the RAF blue is one of my new favorite Rover colors.

Lived in Edinburgh for 8 months. Jealous of the trip!

Haven’t seen that blue before. Looks great! What made you go for that and not Arles? Can’t wait to see the pics come in from the trip!

We went with that as the 110 was an ex RAF one.

This was the inspiration.

It’s getting there. Wheels are being painted this week and KM3 being installed. Putting in front and rear usb chargers, head liner, pair of TD5 forward facing jump seats for the kids, the exmoor canvas storage door cards on all three doors plus the bulkhead and rear mounted ones they do all going in this week.

So it’s all coming together.

Pic from yesterday before the hood and bumper went back on.
