Hi Doug,
Thought you might like to see the latest project, 110 DCPU with I6 6.7 24V Cummins running a 400hp/1200 Nm map...

Cheers,
Andrew Diamond

And he did it without a Puma hood.

speedpin September 8th, 2016 08:50 AM

And had room for a train horn!

Nomar September 8th, 2016 08:51 AM

Yeah....that is just massive.

What I like best is the air horn....

.

Is this running an LT77?

don September 8th, 2016 09:00 AM

Wow!

What's he running for tranny? I would love to hear and see a vid of that thing running.

Brewie212 September 8th, 2016 09:02 AM

I think marks makes an adaptor to lt230

Where is that screenshot from? Does it have a video of the motor running?

roverman2010 September 8th, 2016 09:16 AM

15 odd years ago we where fitting V8 GM diesels as it was the thing then in the UK, now the new rage is Cummins engines.

Check out any UK LR site, also there is a Facebook for Land Rover Cummins installs

Thinking my buddy Andrew just bought it. I have asked on what trans its using just got that email overnight and he hasn't had a chance to respond yet

Ben01 September 8th, 2016 09:25 AM

It was on my Facebook feed a few weeks ago. Most likely, Doug. Very cool.

Here is another cummins project with a ton of info on the build: https://www.facebook.com/Redmanautoengineering/

"Its a ZF S5-42 5 speed with an internally beefed up 1:1.003 ratio transfer box and bespoke ceramic clutch. Running an air compressor and tank so keeps the ZF air assisted clutch, all defenders should have that!
Currently looking at possibility of going auto with the Aisin 6 speed from a newish Ram truck."

This guy has a bunch of Cummins video installs on his site. And another batch of my transmission blew up videos.

That is sick.

Olde Lode Lane September 8th, 2016 03:02 PM

I think my head just exploded.

oilburner September 8th, 2016 03:39 PM

6.7 would be awesome. Quieter than a 300TDI and 4 times the power.

More info:

The UK guys that have done this swap are using the ZF trans since they come in DAF trucks with the Cummins engines. One of the guys builds a conversion kit that adapts to the LT230. The ZF/6BT uses a weird clutch bellhousing that's huge. I am using an NV4500 (as is 16kpsi) and it seems to fit in there better, but the ZF is a really nice trans.
