Swap?

I have a 1980 Aussie Series III 109 Ex-mod with a 2.6 L petrol motor. It was registered in California in 2014 using the propane conversion. I literally know nothing about LPG conversions and am having a hard time dialing it in to smog again. I have had some conversations with some powers that be, and oddly enough, my easiest course of action may be to register a diesel. SO are there any member out there that would swap my CRAZY clean, virtually rust free (seriously), 49,000 mile, Aussie 109 with LPG conversion and Fairey Overdrive for a diesel 109 or 110? Totally fine if it's got some rust just not looking for major motor or transmission issues. I have just recently completed all maintenance needed to make this 109 my reliable daily driver. Again, I'm not going to sell this, as with enough time and effort I can figure it out, but the diesel option is intriguing to me. Thanks!

Am not sure about CA legality, but I do have a conversion kit to bolt the Mercedes OM617 into a Series Land Rover.
The OM617 5 Cylinder was sold in Mercedes cars in USA from 1976 to 1985.
Turbo versions started in 1978.

Hmmm ... Let me do some research and get back to this. Thanks Robert.

OR if there is someone here that is a LPG professional that would let me pick their brains for a bit that would be a huge help! I think the problem lies in dialing a carb in to work for gas and LPG ... Or honestly I could just not even have the proper tank valves open. I just don't even know what I'm looking at. I've taken into propane shops around town and the Aussie tank throws them
