Coolant loss ? keep an eye under the pump

I was losing about a quarter of coolant, nothing on the floor, hoses are tight, head gasket is recent :confused then I noticed the coolant pump has a small, about 1/8", hole under the housing of the shaft and it was leaking boiling coolant on top of the PS pump, bracket, hoses, etc.
If I remember well it was the factory pump, 9 years old and 90,000 km, so i'm not going to complain, some cleaning time and a new airtex.

Cheers

That's the factory weep hole to indicate a failed internal seal on the pump shaft.

I wonder if it could be routed somewhere down to avoid this:
