Seatbelt question

Getting ready to install my rear seatbelts again after several years of not having a back seat. Problem is the belts are wound all the way up on the reel and I can't get them unwound. Tried pulling slowly, etc. Is there a trick to get the inertia reel to release?

yeah lots of good stuff on this...just don't do what I did and take it apart to see "why" or "how" it does what it does!!

Bill, I was about to do that but figured I would ask first... Josh, I tried the "vertical" thing first and that worked. :thumb:

its a very simple mechanism...you need a dremmel and approach it logically. when it comes to the seat belt reel...it's the angle of the dangle that counts...lol!

Have had them get so bad that the only way to release them was to clamp them in a vice and push them to rool up a fraction and then gently pull the belt out.

Alot of times just mounting them in the vehicle where they go puts them in the position where they will unreal as intended.
