Retrofit A/C?
Hi there. Big time D-90 newbie here. Is it a big deal to retrofit A/C? Being a west coast boy now trapped on the east coast, I can't handle the heat and humidity. Maybe shouldn't even be looking at a d-90 from what I have read about their a/c systems. lol. There was a recent thread that discussed this, but I am interested in what a used system would cost, and how difficult it would be to install. Thanks much.

Lots of guys rip the A/C out of their D90s. I picked up a used one affordably and have it working on mine just fine, though I still need to hook up the fast idle line so the thing doesn't die once in awhile at a stop when the A/C kicks on....

Check in the 'for sale' section here, they come up from time to time.

I think Charles has one, and there's one sitting in my garage (belongs to someone else) that I could check and see if the owner's willing to sell. Both are in Northern VA.

Yeah I have one for sale. There is a post in the for sale section with all the details. I'm in chantilly if you want to come look at it.

Abrooks and Charles, thanks much. I am still debating whether or not the D-90 would be the right fit for me. I would definitely have to have air conditioning, and I need to make sure I can have a child seat in the back for my 5 year old son. I prefer the SW, but would then also have to install a bench seat for his car seat. I guess I just need to find a really clean one at the right price and see what happens. Decisions, decisions. Thanks again for the help.
