I was more concerned about parts for the long term, not immediate need. I got mine in 2006. I did end up cracking the head slightly, and neglecting the coolant loss ended up killing my turbo. The mechanic that replaced the turbo back then didn't identify the cause of the turbo failure, and as such, the head was never replaced, and another turbo died a few months after. I've since replaced the head and no issues at all now. All the aluminum head TDI's (200, 300, 2.8 of any brand) can't be overheaded or the head can warp/crack. All these issues where my lack of knowledge, but caused a painful lesson learned. Now, I can do all my own work on the 2.8. it's super easy. kills me that I spent $800 on top of the turbo cost to have that first turbo replaced. I could replace a head and turbo over a weekend now if needed. Also, most maintenance items on the 2.8 are LR 300 TDI parts, so they can be sourced from RN, British Pacific, etc locally and quickly.
All R380's are the same, it's just the bell housing that differs. everything needed comes in the M&D kit if they know what's going in. again, I would have a standard radiator recored and beefed up. I got the HD radiator and it's not enough for hot US summers with A/C (hence, cracked head). I believe my HD intercooler was supplied by M&D on request. can't remember for sure, but you can discuss with them. My original V8 motormounts where used. no new mounts were required.
