    HI Jarek,

The aluminum hinges are holding up nicely - not sagging, not discolored, no squeaks, etc... Pretty much the same as when I installed them. One nice thing I recently noticed is that the hinges prevent the door from opening too far; if your door stop fails on stock hinges it's possible to hit your front fender, but not with these hinges.

Only two complaints so far. First, one hinge was very tight against the door capping on one of my split doors; this may be due to the cheap capping, the fact I have split doors, the hinges, or the really cheap doors I have (I'm guessing cheap doors). Two, the nylock nuts included in the package didn't work well, as the bolt did not come through the door enough to engage the nylon part of the nylock; I ended up using threadlocker on a normal nut instead.

In summary, I'd buy them again.

Note that I'm southwest of Austin, Texas. It's not desert here but snow is seen once every few winters and salt is never used on the roads. And I'm 5 hours from the coast, so sea salt is not an issue.

    Hi,

You have mounted the alluminium hinges to your Defender some years ago. I would be grateful if you told me how they work. I am thinking about replacement in my truck and don't know if they are worth purchasing.

    Thank you in advance,
