I have not installed the driveline into my 110 but do not expect any issues. As I recall, I kept the xcase straight up when machining the bits. Again, the adapter pushes the engine forward 4" which provides the needed clearance of the double-cardon to the transmission pan.

Mark did you have to clock the transfer at all or did you get the clearance from the 4inch distance alone. I was hoping to use a double cardin front propshaft uni at the transfer end

Hi Mark thanks for your time . I will have a chat to Nick and a machinist over the road from the workshop that may be able to assist. I'll let you know what happens. Thanks for your valuable input mate.

Hi mate. I happened to stumble across your thread of the 4l60e to lt230. I was hoping if its not to much trouble if I could have a chat to you adout it. Dimensions, whether you had to clock the lt230, how you got around the front propshaft issue etc.
Im in Australia and have a small land rover workshop and as out defenders are all manual diesels I felt it was time for a v8 auto which is where my 110 is currently. Rover v8 and zf.
Im currently in the process of fitting up a ls2, 6l80e and lt230 with a friend in his defender. That comination is very impressive but out of my price range hence I've decided to remove the v8 and zf to replace it with the ls1, 4l60e to lt230 combination as the 4l60e is very common here in aus. That was sounding great right up until I saw the pan. Hence the search was on for a way to accomplish this. This is how I found you. Im obviously not sure what you do for a living or whether your a machinist by trade but if this is what you do I would be happy to chat to you about potentially machining one up for a price of course. I would love to offer this combination to customers if I can make mine work out well. I would be very grateful for any info you could provide. Happy to call you if you wish.. My details are

You'd have to speak with Ashcroft regarding the gearing as they built it for my 300TDi project. I suspect it is the same as any ZF. The difference is the torque convertor and governor (affecting shift point) matching the torque curve of the 300TDi. The Tcase is not included. The asking price of the ZF is less in both time and cost than acquiring one from the UK.

    Hi,

What gears does the ZF 22 have in it and does it have the transfercase with it? If so what gears are in the Tcase?

    Thanks,
    Ryan
