Wanted: Rear axle fulcrum bracket

So I've lost the battle getting one of the old bolts and the ball joint out of my bracket, so I need a new one.

Anyone have one kicking around for a reasonable price? Used is fine, although I feel like that's kind of unlikely considering the state of mine.

Only about 1.5" of the outer face (where the ball joint goes) got that hot and it was left to air cool, so I think it's likely fine.

Fair enough. Just didn't want it to go unsaid and have an accident later. Wish you luck.

I very much doubt these are made from high strength steel.

You're probably right but the forged piece has a specific rigidness to withstand the forces of the axel. Heating that up to "cherry" may soften that steel a bit. It's worth discussing if it prevents an accident or other components being damaged due to it bending or failing.

Are these not cast pieces? Didn't think they were forged

Of all the components on a defender I cannot see this one failing ... It's just rough cast with 3 holes and 2 bolt holes. It gets its strength from bulk rather than conditioning of the metal.
