If any one wants tech support help on plumbing in the Oil temp and oil pressure guage, please shoot me a pm as I added these two guages to my 4 guage pod about 1 year ago and I DID NOT drill into the oil pump housing.

Looks like a done deal already, but yes, go ahead and take the clock. I was looking up the part numbers I had for the gauges (conversion has been a project on the back burner for awhile), and they didn't match with what I had in my list anyway...

all gauges and clock sold - thanks

No need to drill into the oil pump, take out the plug and thread in an adapter and the proper sender for the gauge and your done.

Drill into oil pump housing?

O.K. guys you are putting in 2 guages right? 1 will be a 2 prong VDO sender that has pressure and an idiot light (for low pressure) correct. 2nd will be an sender for the oil temperature. What "plug" is referred to above?

What I did was removed the normal one prong idiot light sender and drilled and tapped it to a standard pipe filling threaded insert, next, using the below adapter, I was able to fit the 2 senders above which then was screwed onto the pipe threaded old 1 prong sender.
If there is an easier way, cool - most likely the way I did it is just one of the many ways to do it.

I took the old sender, knocked out the sender, and brazed a pipe-threaded adapter onto it. Actually I had a shop do it, so it cost 10 bucks and took 10 minutes.

Jim,
Pretty much the same thing that I did except I tapped the old sender myself. The initial comments I received by some people prior to the install was to tap the oil filter housing.ARGH! Great mimes think alike (but don't say anything)

Yeah, I thought you were saying you drilled the actual housing, which of course is madness!
