Valentine One Radar Detector

Selling my Valentine One Radar Detector complete with everything (including box, paperwork, extra suction cups) and I am also including a Blendmount for it as well. The Blendmount is the absolute best way to attach this radar detector and costs about $90 alone. Whole kitten kaboodle for $300 plus shipping. Everything is in perfect condition, I just don't use it anymore and figure I can buy a new one in the future if I get another sports car/sedan.

SN is 1131390638

From V1's Website:

STATUS REPORT ON YOUR

Serial Number 1131390638

V1 Description: Radar circuitry known in-house as V1.8. This is our latest and best performer on both radar and laser with just one exception—it lacks POP Protection. Of interest to those who drive in Europe and some other countries outside the U.S., the latest V1 version also has Euro Mode.
Upgrade Recommendation: You have a sophisticated security system, and we’re cautious about recommending an Upgrade. If you believe in keeping up with technology, particularly if the POP Mode is being used in your area, then go ahead. V1’s approach to the POP problem is superior to all others in the industry. If you drive abroad, you will appreciate our new Euro Mode which improves protection on photo radar as it is used in some countries outside the U.S.

No, but any good radar operator can defeat radar detectors. For instance when sitting in an interstate or Rt. 29 crossover I "hold" the radar beam until I see a car that appears to be going over the limit. I "release" the beam at a click of a button and let it read, which only takes a second, then "hold" the beam again. So I have gotten an accurate reading based on my observation of you and the brief reading. By doing this I usually have a reading before your detector goes off and before you are able to process that you now see a police car. I also will sit on an on ramp where passing cars can't see me. When one goes by speeding I "release" the beam and if they slam on the brakes for no apparent reason that's good enough for a stop for not only the speed, but to locate the detector. I will stop people 10 over if they appear to have a detector rather then my usual 15 over.

edit: and I should add that I am very good at finding them. It's usually the NC and MD folks that use them while running up and down 29.

There is much more to avoiding getting caught speeding than using a detector. Ifyou know what you are doing, you will not get caught.

So what do you do in VA if somebody has a radar detector? I though it will illegal to operate an RD in VA? By the way, my Valentine One seems to start getting hits about 1 mile away. So if you are "tagging somebody" about a half mile a head of me, I'll be slowing down.

You guys are still using X and K band radar guns? Yikes.

I really don't think any detector is worth anything against LIDAR and Ka band.

We use LIDAR, Kustom Raptors, and Kustom Golden Eagle 2's which is ka band. I have the Golden Eagle 2 mounted in me car. We don't use "guns". Those are old school.

It is illegal to operate one. It has to be in the vehicle where it is readily accessible. If it's locked in the trunk then it's ok.

Ah that's good to know you've moved out of the 70's. haha. By your description of operation it sounded like you had K band stuff that had to always be putting out RF.

I don't know why detectors even bother mentioning LIDAR detection. Can't officers only use them outside of the cruisers? Or is there new stuff?
