TruTrac 3rds with 4.11 Gears

Kinda sorta a feeler, but looking to sell a pair of complete 3rds with TruTracs and 4.11 gears. The lockers and gears came from GBR, and Appalachin Off Road in MD set up the 3rds. Have both receipts - gears and lockers from GBR was $2k even, and setup was $300. 3k miles on them since they were built in May 2011.

Any takers at $1600?

I've been running this set-up for about 8 years and over 80k miles with no complaints. Probably isn't the most popular set-up but the simplicity and fewer fail points convinced me to and I'd do it again if I ever needed to.

Are you concerned about possible weakness in higher gears. FWIW, I spun a GBR front shaft in two pieces at a MAR once in a big mud-pit. Locker and the gears survived with no problems.

Buy them and sell off the 4.11s. I'll even throw in the stock 3.54s so you can have them set up and ready.

It is low enough on stock gears with the 5-spd and 33". Even Huff is running 3.54 on 34". Not like folks wheeling in CO and UT at altitude where gearing could help, we have plenty of torque close to sea level.

I can split them, I don't care. Both of you are relatively close too. Phillip, are you coming up to VA anytime soon?

Probably not for long The switch to 34's has changed his gear ratios enough to make him feel it.

I'll send you an email with the gear ratios and formula to calculate your final rear ratios and rpms if you want to see what 4.11's would do for you.

But personally I wouldn't go with the TTs over ARBs (sorry Jonathan)

They came on my RRC I just bought. Not sure if they are reverse cut, but the invoice I have from GBR shows two separate part numbers - GBR414F and GBR414R - which I assume must mean they are 4.14 gears.

The TruTrac numbers are TT912A383 and TT912A407

There is a guy on NELRC looking for a setup like that. Maybe with a Detroit but worth the shot

It's been a while but I think that is 4:11 *4F* for front (reverse cut) and 4:11*4R* for rear. Not interchangeable, which goes for the TT's also. Keep them labelled LOL.
