Thumbs up TPS - Throttle Position Sensor for 1997 D90 #ERR4278

Purchased a brand new TPS to diagnose an acceleration problem in my 1997 D90. I installed it, drove around my block and the problem remained. I put the old one back in. I dont want a new spare sitting around waiting to get lost in my garage, so i'm offering it here.

Paid $77 + shipping through Rover Connection. Would like $65.00 which includes free shipping to you.

Thanks!

Someone out there with a 1997 must be having intermittent cut outs. You can test these with a meter and many are bad and have dead spots.

Even if you replace the sensor you might have to reset the adaptions with test book. Did it set the check engine light? Also you can adjust & reset the base idle with the t-book. The gems system is not overly complicated. Just my 2 cents. I am a former tech @ LR dealer and am currently a parts manager. Let me know if I can help.

John, thanks for your advice. I don't have a CHECK ENGINE light, but the symptoms are still there. I have not had an opportunity to spend much time with it, but was hoping that swapping in the new TPS would do the trick. I may try again and see if i can reset the base idle... but then again, i may just take it in and have a pro look at it so i dont prolong my agony. I appreciate the help!
