Tire carrier

Will have my stock one available in real good condition in two weeks. My custom tire carrier project starts next week. I'm thinking $100 plus shipping if it sounds fair. I will also put up detailed pics of the new one with jack holder and holds two jerry cans. I'm told that they will be $600 and can be modified to fit your exact needs for a bit more.

Thanks.

Shit. I remember that now. Damn. I didn't mean to screw you out of it. I owe you a beer or something. Its my Birthday and I have been forced to do multiple shots. I really did tell you that you could have it. I'm not quite sure how to make this right now. My horrible memory in my current state of mind is guaranteed to piss off at least one person. How to fix this please.

I agree you were first, I just forgot.

I should send it to you.

catch 22 that is my bad

I will negotiate with Barry. How does that sound?

No worries either way.

I'll never understand how people simply put a price on this board and thigns are immediately snapped up - cheaply in this case.

Why don't you start it at a price and let the highest bidder win? I'd rather lose that way than by just not being first or constantly attached to my PC.

I was not aware that d-90 had been acquired by ebay.

CVC is probably chilling on the beach somewhere enjoying all of that massive cash that ebay paid him for this site.

If someone posts something that you deem to be too high you guys get all bent out of shape and now if something is posted too low you still complain

If the buyer and seller are happy then everyone else should STFU

Yes, I'm sure the seller is satisfied.

Look, we're not idiots here...post something with your target/minimum price and say it goes to the highest offer end of day today, tomorrow, whatever. That's how everyone wins.

Even if it's licked, surely I can make a higher offer if I really need something. Or, is this taboo here as well? We should be big boys here...money talks!

As for this "licking" thing...STFU!!! That's the most stupid thing I've ever heard.

The kid in me (frosted side) says, who ever gets to it first wins...but the grown-up in me thinks that if the Barry's of the board don't need it (hoarding) then let someone who can put it to good use purchase it.

Look, it is no big deal. Huck said a while back that he was selling it and I said I would take it, just let me know when he was ready to sell and how much as I need it for my "110" project (I have a tailgate and liftgate to replace the door and have been looking for an ST tire carrier for a while). Huck forgot and listed it (which may have had something to do with some bday fun on his part). So I have reached out to Barry and if Barry and I can reach an accomodation, then we can, if not, then no worries.

Ron

In all fairness Ron has been looking for a tire carrier as he is constantly on my case to sell me the one I have in my shed. (That I paid too much for on this list)

All that aside, I don't think licking is unfair. A person posts an item at a particular price. Then people chime in with their interest. If everyone is paying the same price and the item is a non-auction item, then the only fair way is to give right of refusal in the order that people responded. An indivudual coming on the board and saying "licked" simply means that they have indicated they are interested in the item at the price being offered, and it is a way of letting our fellow community members know that we have done so. It is similar to saying "Pm sent" except that "PM sent could mean you were simply asking a question about the tiem and you want the seller to check their pm's.

As for the concept of introducing a bidding war into the occasion, I think you might find that you don't want to go toe to toe with some of the frequent buyers on this site in that regard. I know I don't. If a seller wants to do things that way I'm sure no one will have a problem with it. At the same time, not everyone wants to deal with that.

I think it is even more underhanded to say "I'll give you $50 more than Ron will" than it is to simply "lick" an item that you are interested in.

As a community member here, I would never try to step over someones legitimate claim to an item that they were lucky enough to find first.

Maybe you can subscribe to the for sale forum and have it send you an email whenever something new is posted. I dunno. I just look at the site, alot. When I need something it can usually be had with some patience. If not then off to the usuall suspects, ebay uk or whatever. I just scored a Heritage Grill on ebay with very little competition. If you aren't willing to put in the time to scrounge around the classifieds and auction sites you aren't going to find the deals. Vultures find food by circling and watching not sitting on the same rock all day long

PS, hey Barry I'll give you $5 over Ron's price.

I also sent a PM. I wouldn't exactly say I am a hoarder. Ron has been decent with me and I am sure we can work something out. Will that said I really hope Ron has a 94 winch bumper he is willing to take off the kitchen table and sent out
